What Our Skin Needs - Part I

Taking a holistic approach to skin care. It is important to make the internal/external connection. What you put inside your body is as important as what you apply externally and vice versa. Join us as we explore the interconnections in three parts.

Flawless skin, some of us are born with it, and some of us are not. No matter what our genes have dealt us, I say, “love the skin you’re in.”  Being the largest human organ, our skin has many functions: it protects, it absorbs, it excretes, it regulates our temperature, it senses touch, it is constantly being renewed, and it reflects what is happening internally: the good, the bad and the ugly. But it also has many needs, like a garden it needs care, but if neglected that too will be quite obvious. Glowing skin needs: hydrating, conditioning, nourishing, cleansing, exfoliating, and protecting.

We need to protect our skin not only from UV rays, and harsh chemicals, but also from neglect. Many times there are malfunctions occurring within our bodies, yet they go undetected. But that is not so with our skin. This organ for obvious reasons tells us right away when it is in distress.   To be continued...
